AIM Day

AIT – CSE organized a cultural departmental day for IOT, MC and AI/ML branches together and this initiative was taken by the students community of these branches to celebrate a day which is totally dedicated to the celebration of the new arrival of fresher’s into second year and with the purpose of fruitful interaction and it was proved to be an ice breaker between the 2nd year and 3rd year of such branches.

This event was consist of some physical and brainstorming game and then ends up with the cultural performance s of students and felicitation of prizes by the honorable Additional director of AIT-CSE, Chandigarh University.

Apex Premier League

Apex Premier League is a cricket tournament that has been organised by University Institute of technology. It is a cricket tournament of different pattern which is played in the box that means comparatively less area.

APL started on 9th October 2019 and ended on 18th October 2019. There were total 27 Teams participated in the tournament where every section of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year were invited to play. Every Phase of tournament was played on knockout basis where each team compete with one another. Every Team consist 8 players having 2 Female as squad in which 6 players including 1 female were part of playing Team. It was 6 over match per side.

Idea Portraying Competition

The theme of this competition was “To deliver theInnovative ideas to bring change in society.” This competition was designed to emphasize the value of an ability to deliver clear, concise and effective oral presentation, particularly pertaining to the state-of-the-art technology advancements being applied to build innovative products for the sake ofsociety. The aim of this competition was to find some high impactsolutions to modern day problems and to ignite the fire of innovation.

Industrial Visit

A visit to “Global Entrepreneurship Expo”, Pragati Maidan, Delhi & an Industrial visit to “IBM Research Labs”, Vasant Kunj, Delhi was organized by UIE - CSE Department on 13th-14th October 2019, Sunday and Monday respectively. Twenty Seven CSE students, Twenty Five MBA students and three faculties participated. They visited Franchise India expo to explore various business opportunities, interact with Industry executives to understand current market scenarios, latest most demanded technologies & applications, etc

Technology Speak Competition

The theme of this competition was “Promising Applications of AI and Machine Learning’. This competition was designed to emphasize the value of an ability to deliver clear, concise and effective oral presentation, particularly pertaining to the state-of-the-art technology advancements being applied to build innovative applications that have high social impact in the artificial intelligence and machine learning domain. The aim of this competition was to find some high impact solutions to modern day problems and to ignite the fire of innovation.

Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking

Department of AIT – CSE of Chandigarh University has organized a One day workshop on Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking on 17th October, 2019 in Block 15, Lab 301.

The Second Year Students of Information Security has participated in this hands on workshop. Mr. lovepreet Singh Chabbra of CDI has trained the students for their basic skills for phone and internet security.

Hacktoberfest and Open Source

The Department of UIE – CSE of Chandigarh University has organized a seminar on Open Source to celebrate the Hacktoberfest on 14th October, 2019. It was organized in Block 6, Seminar Hall 211.

The Third Year Students organized a Seminar on Open Source Development, to celebrate the Global “Hacktoberfest” that is organized by Github and Digital Ocean across the world in many countries. The event encourages people to contribute to opensource software.

Technical Workshop

APEX-CSE has organized One Day Workshop on 'Computer Networks'. It was organized for Technical Staff. Workshop is divided into two parts theory and lab work. The workshop was aimed at imparting training to the technical staff to ensure optimum utilization of network devices for the benefits of the end users. It also provided participants with an opportunity to discuss their concerns and difficulties in their routine work. The participants took keen interest and actively interacted with the trainers. Workshop delivered by Mr. Suman Saurabh Sarkar and Mr. Jagpreet Singh.

Hackoverflow 2.0 (A National Level Hackathon)

Chandigarh University organized a Techfest “TECH INVENT 2019”. AIT bagged a star event selection in techfest and organized a National Level Hackathon named “Hackoverflow 2.0 where Technology Collides with Sports” with motive of bringing quality ideas on sports analytics and other real life problems. Students were required to code their ideas in 36 Hours. This event gathered hundreds of “thoughtful and skilled coders” from around the country who share a common interest in practical solutions for real life problems.

IBM Day

IBM Day “Technovate 2019” was celebrated on 28 and 29th April. This event encompasses various workshops, competitions, quiz and fun activities for IBM students conducted by IBM people.

Workshops were conducted on current trends such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics and Security. Students learnt about current job scenarios in these areas, demonstration on existing/new projects gave them an outlook about overall technologies involved. This helped students to get clarity in their academic environment by understanding how to put the skills into practice.

Student’s Club

Androbot Club conducted Switch Programming Competition on 5 and 6th April. In this competition, a team comprising of three members had to develop an app. But the crux was that the app has to be developed by switching the participants of a team in every next half an hour. Around 50 teams participated.

Security Mage Club conducted an event on “Session on Ethical hacking” which was followed by a competition “Capture the flag” where participants got to know the real-life scenarios faced by a hacker. On the first day, a session on “Cyber Security” was taken by IBM faculty and in the second students hacking skills were evaluated. Around 70 students from different colleges participated in the event.
