Pathway After Food Technology engineering
In India, Food Processing industry is witnessing a boom due to the surge in retail food sector. It already contributes over 13% of employment in all registered factory sector. As per Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) there is a potential to attract around US$ 33 billion of investment over the next 10 years and also to generate employment of 9 million person-days*
In the current scenario, there will be a huge demand for Food technology specialists, especially in the sectors such as hotels, quality control, soft drink factories, food industries, packaging industries, hospitals, distilleries and rice mills. With the 100% FDI permission in the automatic route for most food products and GoI’s focus on the food sector, major players like Dabur, Amul, Pepsico, Britannia, Nestle, ITC, Cadbury etc will be in expansion mode – creating further job opportunities.
