Catholic Kwandong University [formerly Kwandong University] was founded in 1954. At the initial stage, it opened as an institute of advanced education on April 26, 1955 and became a four-year formal college in 1959. In the 1960‘s, the corporate name was changed to Kwandong Educational Foundation, laying a cornerstone for rapid development. CKU is a South Korean university located in Gangneung, Gangwon-do. Catholic Kwandong University has its educational goals set on training leaders under the Spirits of Catholicism, developing professionals who will contribute to growth of the nation and the world, and nurturing intellectual students who embrace our shared humanity. Chandigarh University has signed MOU with CKU for faculty exchange, student exchange programs & semester exchange programs.
