Alumni campus

An Alumni campus connect lecture was organized by Assistant. Professor Kritika Raj Sharma, and online delivered by Ms. Sukhleen Kaur, Technical Support Engineer VMware and Alumni – ECE Deptt. Batch 2017 pass out, on the topic “Adapting positive attitude for finding placement opportunity” on 22nd April 2022. The expert motivated the students on Positive thinking for job approach and elaborated the ways to prepare for technical interviews.

Industrial Visit

An Industrial Visit was organized by Prof. Bimal Raj Dutta for fourth semester students at Wonders System India Pvt. Ltd. for their exposure to Automation Industry on 21st April, 2022. The students learned about PLC Automation Installation, setup of automation working industry, SCADA software functioning and working of PLC setup.

Robotics Workshop

A Robotics Workshop was organized by Prof. Bimal Raj Dutta and representatives of Robotics Club of ECE department on Line Follower Robot on 30th March, 2022. The participants learned the designing of hardware and software of Line Follower Robot along with its integration.

Expert talk

An Expert talk was organized by Prof. Bimal Raj Dutta and online delivered by Mr. Abhishek Maurya, System Design Engineer, Micron Technology, Inc. on the topic “Design of Flash Memory & its Real Time Application” 14th March, 2022. The expert elaborated on designing of Flash Memory, SSD Memory and their applications.

A Keynote session

A Keynote session was organized by Dr. Simrandeep Singh, Associate Professor - ECE and online delivered by Professor Omar Farooq on Brain Computing Interface on 25/02/22. The expert defined the Neurology system of Brain and elaborated on Interfacing of computer with Neurons.

Expert Talk on Embedded Systems and Robotics by Dr. Pawan Kumar Dahiya, Professor, DCRUST, Murthal

The division of Electronics and Communication Engineering organised an expert talk on the topic of Embedded Systems and Robotics on 5th March, 2020. The Expert for the session was Dr. Pawan Kumar Dahiya, Professor, DCRUST, Murthal. During his lecture, he explained the advancements and innovations going on in the above mentioned field and how the world is evolving in automation. He described how the corporate sector is investing in production of automatic system and trying to make the lives of masses simple. He demonstrated his views with the help of videos. The students who attended the session include 4th and 6th semester. The students got new ideas regarding projects and research which will be beneficial for their future academics. About the Expert: Dr. Pawan Kumar Dahiya is working as Professor in the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal, Sonipat, Haryana. He has a vast experience in this field. He is handling the responsibility as Principal Investigator of Incubation Centre in AI & IOT based Robotics and Automation and Team leader of Robotics Group in DCRUST. He has a number of good research publications in his credit.

Expert Talk on Advanced Wireless Communication by Dr. Suman Kumar, IIT Ropar

The division of Electronics and Communication Engineering organised an expert talk on the topic of Advanced Wireless Communication on 29th January, 2020. The Expert for the session was Dr. Suman Kumar, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar. During his lecture, he explained a number of new upcoming and emerging technologies including LoRa, IoT and Localization. The students who attended the session include 4th and 8th semester. The students got new ideas regarding projects and research which will be beneficial for their future academics.

About the Expert: Suman Kumar is an Assistant Professor in Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. He received the B.Tech degree in electronics and communication engineering from the Future Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata India in 2010. He obtained his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2016. He is the recipient of the best paper award at ICWMC-2012 held at Venice, Italy. His current research interests are LoRa, Bluetooth, RFID, NB-IoT, Localization. He received one project from Department of Science and Technology, India, and many consultancy projects from the Government and private sectors.

The division of Electronics and Communication Engineering organised an expert talk on the topic of NanoElectronic Devices on 18th February, 2020. The Expert for the session was Dr. Arun Kumar Singh, Associate Professor, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. During his lecture, he explained the significance of developing the electronic devices at Nano-scale of dimensions and how the research and industry are evolving with this new technology. The students who attended the session include 6th, 8th semester and complete ME. The students got new ideas regarding projects and research which will be beneficial for their future academics.

Workshop on “Virtual Labs”

Mr. Prateek Sharma, Expert, IIT Delhi on a state level workshopon “ Virtual Labs” conducted Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering in association with IIT Delhi.

Industrial Artificial Intelligence in which Concepts of AI (artificial intelligence), ML (machine learning) and DL (deep learning) discussed

In his presentation Mr. Lukose discussed the dynamics of how an internet of things device operates and lives throughout its life cycle. He discussed about concepts like AI (artificial intelligence), ML (machine learning) and DL (deep learning). He also told the students about Digital Twins integration with artificial intelligence, machine learning and software analytics to create living simulation models that update and change as their physical counterparts change. He told various concepts related to IoT and its use in industries from manufacturing to analysis.

Broadband Wireless Communication

In the session the following topics were covered in details by Mr. S. Nagarajan:

Mobile and Wireless Communication

In his presentation Mr. Vivek Bhushan discussed the evolution of wireless communication from first generation to 4G-5G with a time graph. Then he put some light on the basic components of wireless communication along with its spectrum requirements and efficiency. Sir briefed the participants about the challenges of 4G technology. He also shared the details of services such as wireless access, WiFi, fibre optics and Jio drive provided by the Jio company. Then he highlighted the industries benefitting from 4G including the entertainment, education, skill development, health, agriculture, E-Commerce and many more. He also explained the future of 5G technology.At last Mr. Vivek Bhushan concluded his discussion with the idea of running network supported by Jio Infocomm.

Need & Usage of ICT based Virtual Labs

Mr. Ashish Mudgil, Virtual Lab Expert IIT Delhi, started the session with the very basic idea of Virtual Labs as a concept of reality. He highlighted the importance and utilization of Virtual lab in various disciplines of Science and Engineering. He shared his knowledge of the Virtual Lab portal, its important features, and accesses of various labs with the students. He discussed the concept of sharing the costly equipment and resources of participating institutes, which otherwise are unavailable due to constraints of cost and geographical distance. The session was followed by hands-on.

Creating and Formatting Technical Documents using LaTex

The following topics were covered by Dr. Fikreselam Gared:
