An expert talk on “Career as an Entrepreneur after Law” was given by Mr. Manuj Bhardwaj (Attorney-at-law) and Mr. Mukesh Vashisht (Advocate). The expert talk focused on choosing Entrepreneurship as a career after completion of legal studies as well as discussed various opportunities available for Law students in the corporate world.

An expert talk on the Land Laws of Punjab was delivered by a renowned legal luminary -Justice Paramjeet Singh Dhaliwal. The session focused on the major aspects of Land Laws as how (i) documentation regarding the land is made, (ii) what documents are needed, (iii) the various units of measurement, (iv) the hierarchy of the legal functionaries involved right from Patwari to the judicial members, and (v) how land is plotted on the maps and the legality involved.

It was an interactive session that enlightened the students about the concept of consumer, who can file a complaint, how can a complaint be filed, composition of district forum, the jurisdiction of the courts, the format of complaint and various other important topics.

Giving insight of the judgment, Justice Iqbal Ahmad Ansari enlightened the students on (i) the evolution of law, (ii) common law, (iii) how notions of morality and righteousness differ from society to society, and (iv) the decisions given in the mentioned judgments.

Minority Right Campaign was organized in Mehtot Village, District Mohali, Punjab by University Institute of Legal Studies students. The campaign was organized to make the people aware of their rights, given under Article 29 and Article 30 of the Indian Constitution. The students enlightened the villagers about Article 29 and 30 which is a special right conferred on the religious and linguistic minorities because of their numerical handicap in order to instill in them a sense of confidence.
