Mathematical Research Lab

The work of research mathematicians is varied but often involves proving deep and abstract theorems, developing mathematical descriptions (models) to explain or predict real phenomena and applying mathematical principles to identify trends in data sets.

Applied research can also contribute to the development of a commercial product or develop intelligence about business trends.

You can undertake research into a diverse range of pure, applied and Computational Mathematics including:

  • Soft Computing
  • Computational/ Artificial Intelligence based techniques for optimization
  • Numerical Methods
  • Stochastic Modeling & Reliability
  • Process Modeling, Simulation & Optimization
  • Graph Theory and its Applications
  • Fuzzy set Theory and Applications
  • Cryptography, Coding Theory and Information Security
  • Probability, Statistics and their Applications
  • Relativity Theory
  • Topology, Functional Analysis and Algebra
  • Differential Geometry & differential Equations
  • Fixed Point Theory
  • Fractal theory
  • Thermodynamically Models
  • Continuum Mechanics
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Mathematical Modeling

Collaboration with other scientists and people in commercial functions in industry is common because the application of mathematics is so varied.

Mathematics Labs at Chandigarh University, Punjab

Computing Lab

The object of this Lab is to introduce C/C++, MATLAB, MATHEMATICA and statistical package- R language (for statistical computing and graphical presentation of the data). In recent past these languages have received much attention of researchers, statisticians and data miners for developing tools for mathematical computing and statistical analysis. This Lab will help students to develop skills for Data Analytics, Signal Processing, Control Systems and Presentation, interpretation and analysis of data.
