Workshops by Chandigarh University's Tourism Department

Workshop on destination knowledge- Far East

The Department of Tourism organized a workshop on the topic "Destination Knowledge Learned: Far East". It was organized by Mr. Sandeep along with coordinators, and he explained the Far East's destinations and attractions to spread knowledge among students.

Workshop on - The Recent Verticals of Development- Technology in Tourism

The Department of Tourism organized a workshop on "Recent Developments in Verticals of Development: Technology in Tourism". The topic explained by Mr. Sandeep about the recent developments in verticals of development—technology in tourism—with the help of a PPT, video, images, and quiz with all the MBA-THM and BSC-TTM students encourages them to explore their knowledge of current trends in technology in tourism.

Workshop on - Folk CULTURE of India

The Department of Tourism of UITHM organized a workshop on "Folk Culture of India". The session was addressed by Mr. Sandeep along with two students, and they explained the folk culture of India. The topic was summarised with a discussion based on the necessity and importance of folk culture with all the MBA-THM and BSC-THM students.

Course on Adventure and leadership

The University Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Chandigarh University organised a Leadership Development Camp in collaboration with Himalayan Vagabond Adventures from March 27 to April 2, 2023. The Leadership Development Camp (LDC) program was designed to create awareness and key skills, attitudes, and behaviours that actually helped young adults adapt better to the environment in their late teens and also get the best out of themselves and others.

Basics of Research Methodology

On April 10, 2023, the Department of Tourism hosted a seminar on research methodology with Dr. Jasgurpreet Singh (Associate Professor, Chandigarh University) as the featured speaker. Prof. Manish Sharma (Principal, UITHM) and Dr. Sandeep Guleria (HOD-Tourism, UITHM) hailed the expert for the session. The session itself addressed some of the essential and emergency contacts that can be used while traveling from one location to another.

Workshop on Atam Nirbhar Bharat

The University Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Chandigarh University organized a workshop on Aatma Nirbhar Bharat. Chief guest Dr. Nitesh was welcomed by the honorable principal of UITHM, Prof. Manish Sharma, and the workshop was organized to inform about all the government tourism and hospitality projects. He motivated faculty members to get such government projects completed and work with the association.

Faculty Development Programme

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Chandigarh University, organized a faculty development program. Dr. Amit Dashora was the speaker and chief guest, welcomed by the honourable principal of UITHM, Prof. Manish Sharma. Experts explained Karm Yoga, research ethics, the Indian style of management concept, and one lecture on Bhagwad Geeta with the faculty of the University Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Chandigarh.

Poster Making competition

The Department of Tourism organised a poster contest on gender equality and the empowerment of women. Mr. Sandeep and Ms. Suvidha were responsible for organising the contest. Students created a number of attractive posters on gender equality and the empowerment of women.

Sign up or Register for CUCET with basic details (Name, Email ID, Mobile No., State, Gender and Password). Your Email ID will act as your Username for the portal while the password will be set by you upon registration.

On successful registration, you will receive the confirmation message on your registered contact number and Email. Use the Username and Password to Login to your CUCET Account.

Step 2 - Apply

After successfully creating your candidate profile for CUCET, you can proceed with choosing the Date for your examination. Complete your profile by logging into your CUCET account and choose an examination date as per your convenience and preference.

Step 3 - Submit

You become eligible for admission into Chandigarh University after clearing the CUCET examination. Following your attempt at CUCET, the result will shortly be intimated, based on which you can submit your application for admission and avail merit-based scholarship.
