Upon completion of the B.Com. (Hons.) program of Chandigarh University, the graduates will be able to:

PEO 1: To have successful career either as an entrepreneur or in public/private organization in the field of Accounting, Taxation, Banking and Finance and other related fields.

PEO 2: To achieve professional growth by applying analytical and research skills in order to identify and resolve problems in complex situations.

B.Com (Hons.)-E-Commerce

Upon completion of B.Com (Hons.) ITP program with E-Commerce specialization, graduate will be able to:

PSO-1: Demonstrate knowledge in setting up e-commerce platforms and/or acquiring jobs in an e-commerce related field.

PSO-2: Design the system and processes essentially required for e-commerce and e-business local and global level.


B.Com (Hons.)- Auditing & Taxation

Upon completion of B.Com (Hons.) ITPprogram with Auditing and Taxation specialization, graduate will be able to:

PSO-1: Demonstrate progressive learning of various tax issues and tax forms related to individuals

PSO-2: Apply the knowledge of the business policies, auditing, finance and other related areas both at the macro and micro level.


B.Com (Hons.)- Advanced Cost and management Accounting

Upon completion of B.Com.(Hons.) ITP program with Advanced Cost and Management Accounting specialization, graduate will be able to:

PSO-1: Able to cater to the manpower needs of companies in the area of Costing, and Management decisions

PSO-2: Exhibit relevant financial accounting career skills and application of both quantitative and qualitative techniques to their future careers in business.


B.Com (Hons.)- Marketing

Upon completion of B.Com (Hons.) ITP program with Marketing specialization, graduate will be able to:

PSO-1: Design marketing mix for the different types of products/ services in the different marketplace contexts: and

PSO-2: Demonstrate the recent trends used by the marketers and investigate the issues related to consumer protection.


B.Com (Hons.)- Financial Markets

Upon completion of B.Com(Hons.) ITP program with Financial Market specialization, graduate will be able to:

PSO-1: Apply the skills of fundamental and technical analysis in investment decisions.

PSO-2: Analyse the various options of financial derivatives and exhibit the skills as investment banker in reputed organizations.

PEOs & POs - Master of Commerce (Hons.)

Graduates of M.Com. (Hons.) Program of Chandigarh University are expected to accomplish the following PEOs within a few years from completion of their degrees:

PEO-1: To provide knowledge and skills for being successful entrepreneurs and finance professionals in the field of Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Transport, Telecom, Service, Hospitality, IT and Academics.

PEO-2: To equip student with quantitative, qualitative, cognitive and analytical skills for identifying, analysing, designing and creating business opportunities in a global dynamic environment.

PEO-3: To make competent professionals with ethics, humility and societal needs through their holistic development.

PEO-4: To transform graduates capable of thinking strategically and to lead, motivate and manage multi-disciplinary teams thereby enhancing managerial effectiveness under all circumstances.

PEO-5: To prepare committed professionals with a sense of ‘giving back to the society’ through display of professional ethics, human dignity, empathy and humility in their professional and personal life.

Programme Outcomes (POs) are attributes of the graduates of the programme that are indicative of the graduates’ ability and competence to work as an engineering professional upon graduation. Program Outcomes are statements that describe what students are expected to know or be able to do by the time of graduation. They must relate to knowledge and skills that the students acquire from the programme. The achievement of all outcomes indicates that the student is well prepared to achieve the program educational objectives down the road. The following 12 POs have been chosen by the Commerce Department of Chandigarh University. The M.Com curriculum at CU has been designed to fully meet all the 12 Programme Outcomes:

PO-1: Acquire in-depth knowledge of Commerce discipline, including wider and global perspectives, with an ability to discriminate, evaluate, analyze and synthesize existing and new knowledge, and integration of the same for enhancement of knowledge. (Academic result & International / global reach)

PO-2: Analyze complex business problems critically, apply independent judgment for synthesizing information to make intellectual and/or creative advances for conducting research in a wider theoretical, practical and policy context. (Research and Innovation)

PO-3: Think laterally and originally, conceptualize and solve Business problems, evaluate a wide range of potential solutions for those problems and arrive at feasible, optimal solutions after considering public health and safety, cultural, societal and environmental factors in the core areas of expertise at the national and international levels. (International / global reach)

PO-4: Extract information pertinent to unfamiliar industry issues through literature survey and experiments, apply appropriate research methodologies, techniques and tools, design, conduct survey, analyze and interpret data, demonstrate higher order skill and view things in a broader perspective, submit a report about the study in commerce. (Practical managerial analytical skills & Industry interaction).

PO-5: Demonstrate ability to understand commerce in multifunctional areas like Banking and Finance, Auditing and taxation, Marketing & Entrepreneurship. Also, they will be able to demonstrate ability to understand and derive meaningful inferences about organizational performance. (Functional Specialization)

PO-6: Display knowledge and understanding of group dynamics, recognize opportunities and contribute positively to collaborative-multidisciplinary management research, demonstrate a capacity for self-management and teamwork, decision-making based on open-mindedness, objectivity and rational analysis in order to achieve common goals and further the learning of themselves as well as others. (Team Work)

PO-7: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of commerce principles and apply the same to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, manage projects in the work environment efficiently in respective disciplines and multidisciplinary environments after considering the economical and financial factors. (Industry interaction)

PO-8: Communicate with society at large, regarding complex managerial activities confidently and effectively, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design

PO-9: Documentation by adhering to appropriate standards, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions. Also, they will demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally (Speaking / Writing skills).

PO-10: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in life-long learning independently, with a high level of enthusiasm and commitment to improve knowledge and competence continuously. (Continuing education awareness).

PO11: Display commitment towards professional and intellectual integrity, professional code of conduct, ethics of research and scholarship, consideration of the impact of research outcomes on professional practices and an understanding of responsibility to contribute to the community for sustainable development of society. (Values, ethics, professional integrity and contribution to society).

PO-12: Identify a timely opportunity and using business innovation to pursue that opportunity to create value and wealth for the betterment of the individual and society at large. (Successful career, immediate employment & entrepreneurship)

M.Com (Hons.)- Financial Modelling

Upon completion of M.Com(Hons.) program with Financial Modelling specialization, graduate will be able to:

PSO-1: Cater to the manpower needs of companies in Accounting, Financial analysis and Management .

PSO-2: To make student aware about the latest amendments in the budget and forecasting

PSO-3: Exhibit relevance of Portfolio management with both theoretical and practical implementation.

PSO-4: Understand the concept of equity analysis with fundamental and technical dimensions.


M.Com (Hons.)- Capital Market

Upon completion of M.Com(Hons.) program with Capital Market specialization, graduate will be able to:

PSO-1: Understand the concept financial planning and analysis in respect to latest trends.

PSO-2: Exhibit relevant financial accounting career skills and application of both quantitative and qualitative knowledge to their future careers in business.

PSO-3: Exhibit the relevance of international finance in global market.
