Competition Category
This category celebrates short films that present a strong story with creative direction and cinematic expression. Both fiction and non-fiction works are welcome.
Duration: 5 to 50 minutes
This award recognizes films where visual effects play a key role in enhancing storytelling and creating a compelling visual experience.
Duration: 3 to 30 minutes
This category honors professionally curated showreels that showcase an individual’s or team’s creative skills, technical expertise, and presentation quality.
Duration: 1 to 10 minutes
This award celebrates documentaries that explore real-life subjects with authenticity, insight, and meaningful storytelling.
Duration: 10 to 45 minutes
This category recognizes animated films across 2D, 3D, stop-motion, or experimental styles that reflect creativity and strong visual storytelling.
Duration: 1 to 30 minutes
This award honors films that creatively integrate Artificial Intelligence in storytelling, visual creation, sound, or production processes.
Duration: 2 to 20 minutes
Create a 60–90 seconds Animated, Motion graphics, and Live action video advertisement that promotes: ONE HABIT (Discipline | Punctuality | Consistency | Listening | Reading | Responsibility) or ONE LIFE SKILL (Communication | Teamwork | Focus | Time Management | Decision Making | Empathy)
About CUIFF 2026
To celebrate the professional domains of storytelling, creativity, cultural exchange and cinema, The Department of Animation in Chandigarh University is going to organize “CUIFF26” on 09-10th of April 2026. The films, filmmakers, students, and the professionals from different countries are going to participate to showcase their artworks. This Festival is going to be the bridge between different streams of Education, Industry and Art. The best platform for budding filmmakers to exhibit their creative interests. Participants are welcomed to register in 7 different categories according to areas of specializations; Best Short Film, Best AI Film, Best Documentary, Best Showreel, Best VFX Short Film, Best Animation, and Best Video Advertisement. Distinguished and legendary experts from the film and animation industry are going to be the part of this grand event and would shower their expertise through discussion-panels, jury interactions, revealing their BTSs, and industry dialogues.

Submission fee for National Entries is 500 and for International entries is $8 only.
Policy: Please note that all submission fees are final; no waivers or refunds will be issued post-submission.
