To provide an opportunity to bright and inquisitive young minds from across the country to study in the most challenging and diverse academic environment, Chandigarh University has launched CUCET, a common entrance exam with double benefits. The scholarship revolution of the year gives you a chance to avail of Rs. 200 Crores. It is aimed at rewarding the brilliance and potential of young aspirants to win scholarships and study in futuristic courses of their choice.
Scholarships Renewal Criteria & Renewal Process:
Scholarships once given will be for the entire duration of the program but subject to mandatory meeting of set norms which will be reviewed every year. Once the set norms are met, the scholarship shall be renewed.
Current Renewal Criteria
- CUCET Scholarship Recipients should apply for renewal every year.
- Performance: 7.5 CGPA at the end of each year.
- Student should not indulge in any activity of indiscipline.
- Student should not have E, F or I in any of the subject each year.
Note: Scholarship shall be discontinued if there is any case of indiscipline against the student at any point of time.

Chandigarh University recognizes the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) Government of India for UG and PG programs and extends the exclusive scholarships for merit holders of National level test under the following details in addition to our existing CUCET Scholarship schemes.
The CUET Scholarship for admission in UG and PG programs for the Session 2026-27 is notified as under:

Condition for Continuation of CUET Scholarships:
- For renewal of scholarship it is mandatory that the students admitted under all the above schemes shall have to maintain a minimum of 7.5 CGPA in regular semester exam (Year in case of Pharma D. Program) in first chance without any semester/Year drop in case of Pharma. D Program (with NO “E”, “F”, “I” or “Not Qualified” grades) failing which the scholarship shall be discontinued.
- Scholarship scheme swapping not allowed in upcoming years.
- The student can’t avail multiple scholarships.
Note: If the scholarship gets discontinued in one year due to not maintaining the mandatory requirements and in the coming year if the student maintains the minimum mandatory criteria. The student can apply for the scholarship again, however, in that case, the student would be eligible for only 50 percent of the earlier sanctioned scholarship in the consequent year of study.
Post Graduate Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST
Introduction
The scheme has been initiated keeping in view the social background of the candidates from the deprived section of the society and to provide them opportunity to undertake postgraduate level studies in Professional subjects like Engineering & Technology, Management, Pharmacy etc. in Indian Universities/Institutions/ Colleges.
Objective
The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to 1000 SC/ST candidates to pursue postgraduate level studies in Professional subjects in the eligible institutions as given below.
Eligibility
For the purpose of award of the scholarship students who are pursuing professional courses in the following Institutions/ Colleges/Universities:
- Universities/Institutions/Colleges included under section 2(f) & and 12(B) of UGCAct.
- Deemed to be Universities included under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and eligible to receive grants-in-aid fromUGC
- Universities/Institutions/College funded by Central/StateGovernment.
- Institutes of National Importance.
Courses which require approval from Regulatory Council i.e. Medical Council of India (MCI), Dental Council of India (DCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), NCTIS, NCTE Bar council of India (BCI), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), INC, FORENSIC REGULATORY & DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF INDIA are considered professional courses.
Note 1: M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., MSW and Mass Communication and Journalism degree are accepted as “Non-professional courses”:
Note 2: Candidates pursuing post graduate course in professional subjectsthroughcorrespondence or in Distance Education mode are not eligible to receive financial assistance under this scheme.
Procedure for applying for the Scheme
- The candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions are required to apply online on National Scholarship Portal after issue of advertisement to be published by the UGC once in a year through leading newspaper and Employment News and also on UGC website.
- The host institution where the candidate is studying is required to verify the online application.
Aadhaar Seeding
The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India vide its letter D.O. No. 18-7/2013-U1A dated 10th June, 2016 has instructed the University Grants Commission that from the financial year 2016-17 onwards the Aadhaar will be used as an identifier for disbursement of all Government subsidies/ Scholarships/Fellowships which are to be disbursed directly into the beneficiary’s account.
The Aadhaar details would be updated by the student through the host University/ Institute/ College after seeking a consent from the awardee as per provisions of the Aadhaar Act, 2016.
Nature of Assistance available under the Scheme
- The tenure of award is for two/three years depending upon tenure of the postgraduate course and not for extended period of study, ifany.
- Candidates selected for the award of PG scholarships (under ME/MTech.) shall be provided Scholarship @ Rs.7800/-per month for the duration of the PG Scholarship. For other courses, the amount of scholarship will be paid @Rs.4500/- per month.
- No contingency is payable to the students selected under the scheme with effect from selection year 2017-18.
- The scholarship shall be payable to the awardee from the date of joining the Post Graduate I year course during the selection year.
- The University/ Institute/ College should verify the application of the candidates with regard to the professional courses as provided in the guidelines.
Procedure for release of grant by the UGC
- After selection, the awardees will be paid scholarship on DBT mode
- The list of awardees will be pushed to Public Financial Management System (PFMS) by the NIC.
- PFMS will generate payment files of the awardees and scholarship would be paid for the complete duration of the post graduate course.
Renewals
- Scholarship granted under the scheme will be kept renewed during the period of first year post graduate course subject to good conduct and maintenance of prescribed attendance.
- The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study on receipt of an annual progress report to be granted by the administrative head of the University/ Institution/ College.(E.g. Registrar of a University/ Director of the Institution/ Principal of the College or any other officer designated by them).
- Students failing to get promoted to the next class/ level would forfeit the scholarship.
- Change in course of study will not be permitted.
- Scheme will be implemented and monitored by the UGC.
- The awardees of previous years will continue to follow the UGC pattern of assistance through the designated bank branches of Canara Bank.
Cancellation of Award
Scholarship of a student may be cancelled in any of the following cases :-
- Failure of the awardee to pass the first year of Post Graduate course in first division or equivalent CGPAscore.
- Discontinuation of studies due to personal reasons.
- Candidate is later found ineligible on account of false information provided in the online application or incorrect bank details
Kalpana Chawla Scholarship for Girls (Belonging to Economical Weaker Section of Chandigarh).
Kalpana Chawla Scholarship will be provided to only ten girls students belonging to the economically weaker section of Chandigarh and who have completed 10+2 from Chandigarh and are willing for studying the Program of their choice at Chandigarh University on a first-come first-served basis. 10% scholarship on the total fee will be offered to the students every year. The total Scholarship under this scheme would amount to total Rs. 10 Lakh per year.
Income Criteria: - Family Income less than Rs. 3 Lac per annum
Total Number of Scholarships: - 10 per Year (First Come First Serve)
Quantum of Scholarship: - 10% of the Academic fee in any Program of choice. Valid for the entire duration of the Program.
Condition for continuation of above Concession Scheme
For renewal of scholarship, it is mandatory that the students admitted under all the above schemes shall not have any Semester/Year drop (In case of Pharma. D. Program) and NO “E”, “F”, “I” or “Not Qualified” grades in regular semester/Year exam in first chance failing which the concession shall be discontinued.
Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Scholarship for the wards of Kargil War Hero’s.
Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Scholarship will be provided to the wards of Kargil War Hero’s. The following conditions will be applicable:
- 20 Seats would be reserved for Kargil Martyrs for 2 Years in Chandigarh University
- 15% Academic Fee Waiver for the Wards of Kargil Martyrs.
- 10% Academic Fee Waiver for the Wards of Defense Personals who were injured in Kargil.
- The Fee Waiver would be applicable for the entire Program Duration.
- The total amount of Scholarship under this scheme would be Rs. 25 Lakh per year.
Condition for continuation of above Concession Scheme
For renewal of scholarship, it is mandatory that the students admitted under all the above schemes shall not have any Semester/Year drop (In case of Pharma. D. Program) and NO “E”, “F”, “I” or “Not Qualified” grades in regular semester/Year exam in first chance failing which the concession shall be discontinued.
Scholarship for Meritorious Students of Ladakh
Students from Ladakh who have passed Senior-Secondary and have scored more than 80 % marks from only CBSE affiliated Board or College would be eligible for this scholarship for their higher education at Chandigarh University, Gharuan. Scholarship worth Rs. 1.5 Crore will be covered under this Scheme.
The Criteria for this Scholarship will be as under:
- Students who have scored in between 80-85% will be eligible for 25% scholarship in their admission to higher studies at Chandigarh University.
- Students who have scored in between 85.1-90% will be eligible for 35% scholarship in their admission to higher studies at Chandigarh University.
- Students who have scored more than 90% will be eligible for 50% scholarship in their admission to their higher studies at Chandigarh University.
- Maximum Seats would be 25 per Year.
Condition for continuation of above (3) Merit Based Scholarship schemes
For renewal of scholarship it is mandatory that the students admitted under all the above schemes shall have to maintain a minimum of 7.5 CGPA in regular semester exam (Year in case of Pharma D. Program) in first chance without any semester/Year drop in case of Pharma. D Program (with NO “E”, “F”, “I” or “Not Qualified” grades) failing which the scholarship shall be discontinued.

F.) PG Scholarship to GATE qualified students
- The GATE fellowship amount of Rs 12500/- per month will be applicable up to 10% of the total seats of the PG program (all Master of Engineering programs).
- The GATE fellowship will be given to the meritorious students based on GATE score.
- Fellowship will be offered for a period of 8 months in a year (i.e. August to November & January to April).
- Students availing Gate Fellowship have to take teaching load of 8 to 10 hours per week.
- They need to qualify through interview process for their teaching ability.
G.) Scholarship for Students Who Have Participated in National Children Science Congress
- Top 10 award winners of NCSC every year will be given 100% fee waiver if they take admission in any UG Program in Chandigarh University.
- All Students who have participated in NCSC will be given 10% fee waiver if they take admission in any UG Program in Chandigarh University.
H.) NATA/ JEE (Main) Score Based Scholarship:
In order to encourage meritorious students to get admission in B.Arch. program, the University has introduced a new scholarship scheme i.e. “Architecture Scholarship on the basis of NATA/ JEE (Mains) 2026 Score” for the students admitted during the Academic Session 2026-27. In this scheme, the University will provide following scholarship on the Academic Fees on the following terms and conditions:

Other Concessions Schemes for the Academic Year 2026-2027
A. Old Student Concession Policy to Promote Higher Education: -
The students from CU Mohali and CGC Landran, who seek admission in Chandigarh University after qualifying degree /diploma will be provided a scholarship equivalent to 10% of the yearly fee for the entire duration of the Program.
B. Single Girl Child Concession: -
The Chandigarh University provides a 20% concession on the yearly fee to a single girl child for the entire duration of the Program.
C. Teacher’s Ward Concession: -
The Chandigarh University provides a 10% concession on the yearly fee to the wards of teachers for the entire duration of the Program (Teachers of Govt. / Govt. recognized schools/ colleges/ universities) provided a teacher should have at least one year of regular service. A maximum of 5% of total seats in each Program shall be offered under this scheme.
D. Sibling Concession: -
The University offers 10% concession on the yearly fee to one of the siblings studying in any institute of Chandigarh University, till the time both siblings are studying in the university. The concession will be allowed to continue even after the passing out of one sibling.
E. Concession to Girl Sibling: -
The Chandigarh University provides 10% concession on the yearly fee to both female siblings for the entire duration of the Program. The concession will be allowed to continue even after the passing out of one sibling.
F. Concession under Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme (AFEWS) for Wards/Spouse of Defence Personnel’s.
As a gesture of appreciation and gratitude towards our Defence Forces, Chandigarh University has introduced the Armed Forces Education Welfare Scheme (AFEWS) — a Reservation-cum-Fee Waiver initiative for Defence Personnel, their spouses, and wards. This scheme reflects the University’s commitment to its social responsibility toward special sections of society.
Under this scheme, 5% of seats in all programs are reserved for the wards and spouses of Defence Martyrs and their immediate dependents.

Officers on Study Leave
Serving defence officers pursuing a program during their study leave shall be offered 1% seats (minimum one seat per program) with a 20% concession in the semester fee.
G) G. Concession for Chandigarh University Staff
The wards, spouse, and real brother/sister of regular Chandigarh University staff members with a minimum of one year of continuous service shall be eligible for a 50% concession in academic fees for UG & PG programs.
Further, a 60% concession in academic
fees shall be applicable for the wards, spouse, or real
siblings of Chandigarh University staff members drawing a
monthly salary below ₹25,000/-.
This
concession shall remain valid as long as the concerned staff
member continues to serve in Chandigarh University.
H) Orphan Concession: -
- 50% of the concession will be given in case of an Orphan Candidate.
- 20% of the concession will be given in case of a Single Parent.
I) Early bird scholarship:-
Early bird scholarship to the Master of Engineering Programsas per the following conditions:
- 15 (Fifteen) percent scholarshipto be given to the students who have completed a Bachelor of Engineering from Chandigarh University, provided they pay the full semester fee at the time of admission
- 10 (Ten) percent scholarshipto be given to the students who have completed Bachelor of Engineering/Technology from other recognized Universities/Institutes.
J) Alumni Scholarship:-
10% concession will also be allowed to the real brother/ sister/spouse/Wards of the alumni student of this university.
K) Gyan Kashi Scholarship policy for Varanasi Students:-
Scholarship proposed for Sikh Community students in Varanasi for 5 years’ for the first 250 students’ intake (2023-2027).
Eligibility for Scholarship:-
- The Sikh community students of Varanasi who have passed Senior-Secondary from any state or central recognized board will be eligible to avail this scholarship for encouraging them for higher education at Chandigarh University, Gharuan Distt, S.A.S Nagar (Pb).
- All Sikh community students who have passed Graduation from any state or central recognized University will be eligible to avail this scholarship for their higher education at Chandigarh University, Mohali.
Criteria for availing the Scholarship for availing scholarship mentioned in Point
- Family income shall not exceed Rs. 5,00,000 per annum and a valid income certificate from competent authority of the area to be annexed with application for admission.
- Scholarship of 50% will be allowed for up to 250 students on first-come first served basis
- For the continuation of scholarship in next year, the policies of Chandigarh University shall be adhered to.
- Students must have valid address and ID proof of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
- Scholarships will be applicable on academic fees only.
- Scholarship for student taking admission in 2026 will be continued up to completion of the Program.
L. Kalpana Chawla Scholarship for Girls (Belonging to Economical Weaker Section of Chandigarh).
Kalpana Chawla Scholarship will be provided to only ten girls students belonging to the economically weaker section of Chandigarh and who have completed 10+2 from Chandigarh and are willing for studying the Program of their choice at Chandigarh University on a first-come first-served basis. 10% scholarship on the total fee will be offered to the students every year. Shaheed Bhagat Singh Scholarship will be provided to the students of DAV Sr. Sec School (Lahore), Sector-8 C, Chandigarh.
The following conditions will be applicable:
- 25% Academic Fee Waiver for the students who have passed Senior-Secondary from this School & are willing for studying at Chandigarh University.
- The Fee Waiver would be applicable for the entire Program
Condition for continuation of all the above Other Concession Schemes:

Scholarship Scheme for Wards of Defence Personnel for the Academic Year 2026-2027
Concession under Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme (AFEWS) for Wards/Spouse of Defence Personnel’s.

Architecture Scholarship on the Basis of Nata/jee (Main) Score
NATA/ JEE (Main) Score Based Scholarship
In order to encourage meritorious students to get admission in B.Arch. program, the University has introduced a new scholarship scheme i.e. “Architecture Scholarship on the basis of NATA/ JEE (Main) Score” for the students admitted during the Academic Session 2026-27. In this scheme, the University will provide following scholarship on the Academic Fees on the following terms and conditions:

For renewal of scholarship it is mandatory that the students admitted under all the above schemes shall have to maintain a minimum of 7.5 CGPA in regular semester exam (Year in case of Pharma D. Program) in first chance without any semester/Year drop in case of Pharma. D Program (with NO “E”, “F”, “I” or “Not Qualified” grades) failing which the scholarship shall be discontinued.
Scholarship for Chandigarh University Staff for Session 2026-2027
Concession for Chandigarh University Staff
The wards, spouse, and real brother/sister of regular Chandigarh University staff members with a minimum of one year of continuous service shall be eligible for a 50% concession in academic fees for UG & PG programs.
Further, a 60% concession in academic
fees shall be applicable for the wards, spouse, or real
siblings of Chandigarh University staff members drawing a
monthly salary below ₹25,000/-.
This
concession shall remain valid as long as the concerned staff
member continues to serve in Chandigarh University.

Early Bird Scholarship For PG Students For The Academic Year 2026-2027
Early bird scholarship to the Master of Engineering Programs as per the following conditions:
- 15 (Fifteen) percent scholarshipto be given to the students who have completed a Bachelor of Engineering from Chandigarh University, provided they pay the full semester fee at the time of admission
- 10 (Ten) percent scholarshipto be given to the students who have completed Bachelor of Engineering/Technology from other recognized Universities/Institutes.

Teaching Assistant Stipend
Teaching Assistant Option for M.Sc. and ME Students with Stipend of Rs.5000 to Rs.8000/- per month subject to maximum 10 months in an year.

Scholarship Policy (Cultural Achievers)
The Scholarship Policy for cultural activities is for those budding artists and student achievers who have achieved laurels at National, International, State competitions or other levels in the categories of Music, Dance, Theatre, Literary and Fine Arts. The aim of the scholarship is to maximize the participation of students in cultural activities and to encourage them to promote art & culture at various levels.

Terms & Conditions:
- The above-given scholarships are for the Dance, Music, Theatre, Fine Arts and Literary categories.
- These Rules shall come into force with immediate effect after the approval by Hon’ble management.
- For the students who were not admitted under the Cultural Scholarship Policy during admission but, have represented the university at State / North or National level competitions and have achievements (1st, 2nd or 3rd Position in State / North or National level) are eligible for the scholarship and the same will be applicable in next year onwards in the present course.
- After one year the scholarship will be revised on the basis of a student’s participation and achievements in the previous year. The institution reserves the right to cancel the scholarship at any moment if the students' engagement and performance are subpar, any illegal behaviour or action that violates the university's policies.
Category 1.4 and 3.3 are applicable only on the condition that a team (8-12 members) of folk dance will take admission. Or, if the number of students is 1 or less than 8 which will be recommended by the Cultural Division of Chandigarh University.
