Plagiarism Policy
Chandigarh University Law Review (CULR) maintains a strict
zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. Originality is a
cornerstone of academic integrity, and all submissions must reflect
the author’s own work and properly acknowledge the contributions of
others.
Definition of Plagiarism
- Copying text, ideas, data, or graphics from previously published
work
without proper citation.
- Paraphrasing substantial portions of another work (even with
citation)
without original contribution.
- Submitting work previously published or under review elsewhere
without
appropriate disclosure (self-plagiarism).
- Using AI-generated content without declaration or attribution where
required.
Plagiarism and AI Check
- All manuscripts are screened using reliable plagiarism detection
software (e.g., Turnitin).
- The similarity index must be below 10% (excluding bibliography and
quotes). Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned or
rejected
Author Responsibilities
- Authors must submit a plagiarism declaration with their manuscript
affirming originality.
- Proper citation and referencing in compliance with the prescribed
style (e.g., ILI, Bluebook, APA) are mandatory.
- Collaborative works must accurately reflect co-author contributions.
CULR promotes academic ethics and expects all contributors to adhere to
the highest standards of honesty and scholarly conduct.
