How will I know whether I am eligible for a semester program or not?

For any program, the basic requirement is a passport and a minimum of one semester/year at CU. Semester Exchange Programs are on first come-first serve basis. The program requirements (including proof of English language) that you need to study abroad will differ depending on the educational qualifications and the type of program you want to pursue.

What is the difference between semester exchange and semester abroad?

An exchange is a special agreement between two universities, so education for you is free abroad, i.e. you don't have to pay semester tuition fees in the international university. But, you need to pay it at CU. Part-time is generally not allowed under this agreement. There are very limited seats available, as you are getting international education by paying a certain amount of fee at Chandigarh University. An abroad program means that you need to pay semester tuition fees at the international university but not at CU. Part-time work is allowed for approximately 20hr/week. The seats here are unlimited. The cost differs with the change of fee as the tuition fee is higher than what you pay at CU. There is not much difference in the number of opportunities available in both the programs. It is just the matter of tie ups that we have. Our tie-ups in Australia, UK & USA are semester abroad programs.

What is the difference between articulation and credit transfer program?

An articulation program is a fixed duration program, i.e., if you have completed 2 years at CU, you can complete the remaining duration abroad. This is in the case of our tie-up in Canada. Credit transfer program means that a certain number of credits that you have earned during your study at CU will be transferred and for the remaining of them, you are expected to earn abroad. The duration of your degree can vary. This is in the case of our tie-ups in the USA & Australia.

What is the application process?

The application process has been simplified for you. It starts by registering your name in OIR. We then compile your documents to send your nomination for admissions. Once you have been selected, you will have to fulfil their requirements and complete the admission process. Then comes the booking of your accommodation; the visa process and the booking of air-tickets. We generally hold a pre-departure session before you leave, so that you aren’t unprepared once you land there.

What help will I be provided during the application procedure?

You get regular updates via email once your application procedure gets started. There is nothing that you are required to do independently. You will be guided at every step. You are required to submit an application for further help from counsellors. If there is an interview for admission or visa, you have to go through an intensive training to put an end to any chance of rejections.
