This division of Chandigarh University aims to nurture the holistic development of students by encouraging active participation in civic engagement, nation-building, and social upliftment. It comprises four core sub-sections: ISR (Institutional Social Responsibility), NSS, NCC, and Student Clubs & Societies — each empowering students to lead, serve, and grow.
Chandigarh University’s NSS Unit, aligned with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, promotes volunteerism and social responsibility among students under the motto “Not Me But You”. The program empowers youth to serve society through a variety of impactful initiatives.

Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) at Chandigarh University is a student-led initiative fostering community engagement through impactful service. Rooted in nation-building and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), it empowers students to lead in health, education, environment, and charity.
Vision: To nurture a culture of socially responsible citizenship through impactful service contributing to sustainable development.
Mission: To integrate social responsibility into academic life by empowering students to lead community initiatives aligned with national priorities and UNSDGs.
ISR aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for Goals), addressing key global and national challenges through local action.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a voluntary organization under the Ministry of Defence, known as the largest uniformed youth body in India. Its motto, “Unity and Discipline”, reflects its commitment to shaping responsible, disciplined, and patriotic citizens.
Originating under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948, it includes Army, Navy, and Air Wing units that provide structured training and activities for youth. Chandigarh University hosts boys under the 2nd Chandigarh NCC Battalion and girls under the 1st Chandigarh NCC Girls Battalion.
The university offers 'B' and 'C' certificates for Senior Division/Senior Wing cadets over a 3-year tenure. Cadets engage in camps, parades, rallies, drills, and awareness programs.
After a series of discussions, the official motto "Unity and Discipline" was finalized in 1980 to reflect the core purpose of NCC – developing united and disciplined citizens to serve the nation.
Chandigarh University’s NCC Wing has emerged as a cradle for grooming next-generation officers for the Indian Armed Forces. Since its inception in 2013, it has trained over 520 cadets — 379 males and 141 females — in trekking, mountaineering, weapon handling, map reading, and self-defense.
Out of these, an impressive 43 cadets have been commissioned as officers: 26 in the Indian Army, 13 in the Indian Navy, and 4 in the Indian Air Force — achieving a remarkable 8% selection rate.
✈️ Flying Officer Jiwanjot Kaur Chahal (CSE) turned down a lucrative IT job to join the Indian Air Force in 2020 — proudly becoming the first officer in her family.
⚓ Ashi Sharma (CSE), inspired by her grandfather, trained in CU’s Army NCC Wing and is now commissioned in the Indian Navy.
🎖️ Captain Prithvi Singh Mann (CSE) joined NCC early, completed multiple leadership camps, and now serves in the Indian Army as a Captain.

Objectives
Aim: It is an initiative to promote cardiovascular health, endurance, and sustainable transport through group cycling activities and structured fitness training, fostering a culture of active living on campus.
Activities include General fitness, Fit India Cycling Event, Cycling to Landmark challenge.
Aim: The vision of the club is to encourage exploration, resilience, and environmental awareness by organizing treks, hikes, and outdoor expeditions that develop leadership, teamwork, and a spirit of adventure.
Activities include General Fitness, Nature Trail Trek, Nature Cleanup.
Aim: The club believes in empowering the students with practical self-defence techniques, discipline, and physical conditioning through training in mixed martial arts, enhancing confidence and personal safety.
Activities include Daily training of Self Defence, Judo and Karate, Self-defence women week, Open Ring Martial Art.
Aim: It is dedicated to nurturing the mind-body connection through the practice of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. It provides students a peaceful space to develop physical flexibility, mental clarity, and emotional balance, fostering overall well-being and stress resilience.
Activities include Surya Namaskar, basic asanas, Mega Yoga Camp, Meditation & sleep hygiene talk, Full Moon Yoga event.
Aim: The club focus on comprehensive physical conditioning overall physical fitness, strength, and agility through structured athletics training and cross-disciplinary workouts that prepare students for competitive sports and lifelong health.
Activities include Cross Country, Speed Training, Strength Training Focus, Agility Circuit Race.
Aim: The Aerobics & Zumba Club offers a fun and energetic atmosphere where students can engage in cardiovascular workouts through dance and rhythmic exercise. Combining the structure of aerobics with the vibrant rhythms of Latin-inspired Zumba, this club promotes fitness, coordination, and joyful movement for all skill levels.
Activity includes open DJ Zumba & Aerobics, Icebreaker Zumba, Zumba with Props Night, Bollywood Zumba Night.
Aim: The Rotaract Club of Chandigarh University Central is a dynamic youth service organization operating under RID 3080. Proudly sponsored by the Rotary Club Chandigarh Central, the club was chartered in the year 2023.
Activity includes Youth Leadership Workshop, Book donation& Literacy drive, Free health Checkup Camp, Global Grant awareness session, Mental health Open Mic.
Aim: It is a student-led initiative committed to spreading kindness, empathy, and social responsibility among the youth. It nurtures a culture of compassion by engaging students in acts of service and humanitarian outreach.
Activity includes National Bood Donation Day, Geneva Convention Day, World disaster Reduction Day, ICRC Foundation Day, Children’s Day, Human Rights Day, World AIDS Day.
Aim: It harnesses the potential of youth by equipping them with correct information on HIV/AIDS and encouraging them to adopt healthy lifestyles and contribute to society.

Activity includes World AIDS Day, Peer educator Training, Blood Donation drive, Awareness Session.
Aim: It has been established to sensitise students towards animal welfare and the environment envisioning a campus community contributing to a more sustainable future.
Activity includes Feeding Drive, Adoption Awareness campaign.
Aim: Tejaswini: It is proposed to empower young women and sensitise youth on the issues of gender justice, equity, and leadership.
Activity includes expert talk for students on gender roles and equality, focus on menstrual health, nutrition, mental well-being.
Aim: Infotainment Club is envisioned as a creative and inclusive platform for students to express, learn, and educate others through a blend of information and entertainment.
Activity includes topics related to student life, awareness, or innovation, Student-led infotainment content on relevant youth topics, Cultural activities, street plays, quizzes, talk shows, digital content, and interactive media
Aim: To cultivate strategic thinking, teamwork, and digital competitiveness by engaging students in e-sports and mind sports such as chess, bridge, and other cognitive games.
Activities include Daily practice of Valorant and BGMI, Inter College E-Sports Matches, Club ladder Matches, Chess & Valorant practice
