Cultural

From music, dance, theatre to literature and fine arts, Chandigarh University encourages its students to actively engage in countless cultural events whether taking place on or off-campus. To purposely engage the students in meaningful activities, Chandigarh University boasts various cultural clubs and committees. These clubs and committees regularly arrange national level and inter-university competitions for the students that let them nurture their instinctive talents and serve as a platform to them.

Cultural activities are much more beneficial than they seem. These activities play a vital role in shaping the passion and interest of the students, apart from the academics. Time management, self-exploration, personal growth, improved self-esteem; CU believes that indulging in such activities teaches the real-time aspects of life.

Cultural Achievements

  • CU- Runner-up after securing 14 medals in different categories at Punjab State Youth Festival 2021. Along with the Runner-up's trophy, our participants conquered the categories of Inter-University Folk Dance Championship and Traditional & Western Pehnawa.
  • From winning Global Miss India Worldwide to making debut in Bollywood -2019
  • National Champion In One Act Play held at Mumbai - 2017
  • 1st in Literary Fest AIU North Zone National Youth Festival 2017
  • Won 2nd and 1st positions in the debate championship and photography respectively at IIT Ropar’s annual tech fest “Zeitgeist” 2015
  • 1st position in the Photography at North India Inter-University Youth Festival (2014-15) organized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
  • Won Over All Trophy in Literary Events, First position in Debate, Third position in one act Play, 3rd position in Quiz, and third position in Group Song Western in North Zone Inter Universities Youth Festival (2016-17)
  • Won Second position in One Act Play, in All India Inter State Youth Festival, held at Rohtak (Jan. 2017)

National Chapters

The Department of Art and Culture Affairs has developed an exciting concept that not only aims to promote India's rich cultural diversity but also to provide a special forum for global harmony and understanding. In order to promote cultural interchange between the many nations, states, regions, and religions, we have established chapters of national and international students. These chapters were created with the intention of supporting youth programming in artistic and cultural pursuits and fostering a sense of national and global integration among young people.
