I-Shou University, Taiwan

Formerly called Kaohsiung Polytechnic Institute (KPI), I-Shou University (ISU) was established in 1986 by Chairman I-Shou Lin of E United Group to commemorate his mother as well as to benefit the villages and towns where he started his business. It was also Mr. Lin’s way of giving back to the society and accomplishing his lifelong mission of nurturing highly educated professionals for the country. With its excellent performance on teaching, research and administration, KPI was officially upgraded and renamed I-Shou University in August of 1997.
ISU’s future development efforts will be partly focused on biotechnology with the aim of narrowing the gap in resources between northern and southern Taiwan. ISU aspires to develop non-polluting high technologies and stimulate local cultural and industrial development by establishing a “Cultural & Green Silicon Valley.” ISU expects a transformation into a green hi-tech university which puts equal emphasis on liberal arts and technology, and at the same time promotes cultural and industrial development in southern Taiwan.


Tamkang University, Taiwan

Tamkang University is a private university in Taiwan, located in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The school, founded in 1950 as a junior college of English literature, is today a comprehensive university comprising eleven colleges that serves nearly 30,000 students via four campus sites (three traditional, one online).
Tamkang University enjoys widespread recognition as Taiwan's oldest private institution of higher learning and one of its most distinguished. The school ranks 9th on comprehensive measures by Taiwan's Ministry of Education and in the top 50 universities in Asia. Over 28,000 students of fifty nationalities form the diverse student body of the school. The school has partnerships with over a hundred sister universities in 28 countries. The university's main campus in historic Tamsui is noted for its scenery. Casually, members of the university community call themselves 'Tamkangians.' Tamkang University is ranked 251-300 in English Language and Literature by QS World University Rankings in 2015.
Today, Tamkang University has 11 colleges comprising 47 departments and divisions, 50 master's programs, and 17 doctoral programs. The total student enrollment is 28,075 and the number of faculty and staff members is 2,288. The university has four campuses: the main campus in the Tamsui District of New Taipei City, the Taipei City campus, the Lanyang campus in Jiaoxi Township in Yilan County, and the online Cyber Campus.

NDHU is a comprehensive research university considered the high prestigious university in Eastern Taiwan, offering the 3rd widest range of disciplines among universities in Taiwan. In 2018, NDHU is ranked 184th among 400+ universities from 41 emerging countries ,ranked 801-1000 in the world ,and 195th in Asia by the 2019 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Also, NDHU is ranked 251-260th in Asia by the The QS Asia University Rankings.
