B.E. Electrical Engineering Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
The graduates of Electrical Engineering will:

PEO-1: Acquire strong educational foundation in science, mathematics and Electrical Engineering which is essential in making successful careers in Industry/ research / higher education and will understand the professional responsibility in modern electrical power and energy related Industry through global and rigorous education.

PEO-2: Possess technical competence in the fields of Electrical engineering & allied disciplines and will be successful for the execution of engineering solutions which are technically sound and environment friendly.

PEO-3: Exploit their broad based knowledge, skills and resources to design, invent and develop novel technology and find creative and innovative solutions to engineering problems in a multidisciplinary work environment.

PEO-4: Be professional with leadership qualities, effective communication skills, ethical attitude and competence to excel individually and work efficiently in teams.

PEO-5: Possess attitude to learn and adopt new technologies as it evolves and be lifelong learners.

B.E. Electrical Engineering Program Outcomes (PO)
The students of undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering will have

PO-1: Engineering knowledge Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO-2: Problem analysis Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO-3: Design/development of solutions Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO-4: Conduct investigations of complex problems Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO-5: Modern tool usage Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO-6: The engineer and society Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO-7: Environment and sustainability Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO-8: Ethics Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO-9: Individual and team work Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO-10: Communication Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO-11: Project management and finance Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO-12: Life-long learning Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

B.E. Electrical Engineering Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

PSO-1: Develop an attitude for scientific thinking and acquire deep analytical knowledge of basic sciences and Electrical Engineering and apply latest technologies to meet the Electrical Power requirements of global consumers.

PSO-2: Effective communication and leadership skills to meet technical challenges of the society and industry.

PSO-3: Capability for successful career in wide areas of specialization of Electrical Engineering Research, development of global mindset, innovation and to develop Engineering education uplift of surrounding especially rural area and open professional career avenues for local youth.

The students of postgraduate program in Electrical Engineering will have

M.E. Electrical Engineering Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

PSO-1: The application of fundamental knowledge to indentify, formulate and investigate various real time problems of Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Control System, Instrumentation System, Power System and Power Electronic systems.

PSO-2: The application of recent techniques along with modern software tools for designing, simulating and analyzing electrical systems as well as electronic system to engage in lifelong learning.

PSO-3: The utilization of knowledge regarding project management techniques and sustainable technologies for developing projects related to Smart Power Grid, Automatic Controllers, Advanced Power System Protection, Wireless System, Power Quality, Energy Saving, Embedded Systems etc.
