Chandigarh University offers a perfect blend of Intra/Inter/Extra Curricula Activities to enhance the interaction and bonding among the students. We are proud to share that the creative excellence of our Fine Arts students was recognized at the World Art Day event, organized by the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi at the Sector 17 Underpass, Chandigarh.

Out of 100 installations and artworks meticulously selected by a distinguished jury, 15 installations were chosen for public display—and among them were the exceptional works of our talented students. Their art not only captivated audiences but also received heartfelt appreciation from the artist fraternity and earned noteworthy media coverage.

This recognition highlights the passion, vision and artistic strength of our Fine Arts Department, bringing pride and prestige to Chandigarh University on a celebrated international platform.

Description:

Department of fine arts participated in the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi on 12 Sept 2019. Being an budding artist students of first year fine art very enthusiastically participated in this event. Students have constructed an eco-friendly Ganesh sculpture with clay and pulses; it was do so that after Visarjan it should not pollute the water stream

Outcome:

On this auspicious event student inculcates cultural values in themselves. Sculpture of Ganesha was made with eco-friendly material which inspired them to save the environment.
Pulses and rice was used to make the statue it serves as food for the fishes.

Description:

A garden in front of block 3A, where sculptures created by students of 7th semester (sculpture department) were exhibited on pedestals in the garden. These sculptures were created in fine arts sculpture club ,a student of 7th semester (denial) was leading the club who guided the students to create these auspicious works of art where Different abstract ideas were hewn out in different mediums for instance wood and metal. This step was taken for the beautification of the campus.

Outcome:

This club activity has superb results as many students took interest in sculpture as they come to know about their passion and talent in sculpture. This sculpture activity has reinforced the students positively. Students learnt many techniques in many mediums.
