Industrial Visit: Kitty Industries Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana, Punjab

An industrial visit was planned for the students of Mechatronics engineering on 20th Nov, 2017 to Kitty Industries Pvt. Ltd. Kitty Bread is one of the largest manufacturer of bread & bakery products in Punjab. Students were made aware of whole process of bread making. Students were also given knowledge about various parts in the machines and conveyor belts used and their functioning.

Industrial Visit: JSW Vallabh Pvt. Ltd, Rajpura, Punjab

An industrial visit was planned for the students of Mechatronics engineering to JSW Vallabh PVT. LTD, which is a Tin coating HR Coil machines manufacturer. Students were made aware of the entire process of making Tin plating HR Coil. Students also got knowledge about method of electroplating and about step by step procedure followed of the processes done on tin plated sheet before packaging and shipping it to the customer. At the end queries of students about Machines and processes involved were answered by their experts.

Students Industrial Visit to Hansa Metallic Limited, Punjab

An Industrial visit to “Hansa Metallic Ltd.” was organized by the Mechatronics Department of Chandigarh University on 20th February 2018. The purpose of visit was to enable the students learn about process of quality testing and understand manufacturing, automation, and role of PLC’s and control system in industries.

Giving the valuable practical exposure to students, an industrial visit to Wonder Automation Training Division, Mohali, Punjab was organized by Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Chandigarh University. Wonder System India Pvt Ltd. is an exclusive ATC of PARKER HANNIFIN (Formerly SSD Eurotherm Drives), Siemens, Gefran, Fuji & System House for Crompton for Hot Rolling Automation Solutions. This industrial visit was arranged so that students could get practical knowledge about PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), Drivers, Human Machine Interface and to have a better understanding of various machines and processes focused on Industrial Automation.

Activity by Chandigarh University's Mechatronics Engineering Students

Industrial Visit: Mach Auto Expo-2020

Giving the valuable practical exposure to students, an industrial visit to 'MACH AUTO EXPO-2020', GLADA GROUND, Ludhiana, Punjab was organized by Department of Mechatronics Engineering on 24-02-2020 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students. Mach Auto-Expo focus basically on Engineering Machinery, Machine Tools, Auto Parts, Hand Tools, CNC Machines and SPMs, Automation Technology and many more and is held regularly every year. MachAuto-Expo is India's largest SME gathering on Engineering & Manufacturing Products.

Club Activity: Paper Presentation

The ROBOTICS Club of Mechatronics Engineering department organized an event “Paper presentation” on 13th October, 2016. The topic of the presentation was Latest Technological Developments in Automation and Robotics. The teams were given 5-7 minutes for presentation followed by question and answer session by the judges of the event and audience.

Club Activity: Robowars

The ROBOTICS Club of Mechatronics Engineering department organized an event ROBOWARS on 19th Nov, 2016.The participants were given instruction for making a robot prior to the event. Arena was defined for the battle of the robots. 2 rounds were held for the teams. Point were given on the attacking the opponent and for defense from opponent.

Club Activity: Roborace

The ROBOTICS Club of Mechatronics Engineering department organized an event of ‘ROBORACE’ on 24th October, 2018. A total of 10 teams from branches of CSE, Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering Departments took part in the event. The students were made to design a BOT with specified dimensions. Then the robot was made to cover the entire track consisting of several hurdles including zigzag path, speed breakers, sand pits, and two ramps of different sizes in minimum possible time avoiding penalties.
